Hot Infovest21 Tips for Personal Development by Richard Onebamoi.

Self improvement is never an accident and never occurs that way but it is the consequence of a deliberate action plan undertaken. It is imperative to understand from the onset that the reason most people stop growing is because they make the choice to not to grow and thereby putting their quest for personal growth and self improvement on the back burner so to speak.

Dr. John C. Maxwell said, “Self-development is a higher calling; it is the development of your potential so that you can attain the purpose for which you were created.” Self-improvement therefore, begins with your spirit, your mind, as you consistently acquire new information and discard the ones that are obsolete that no longer serve your purpose.

Self improvement tips are necessary for each person in order for them to recognize the areas in which they need to improve, especially with somebody who likes to do things properly who does not see himself or herself as having any faults or deficiencies. These self improvement tips will become more significant if you take massive action in applying them. Here are 5 Hot Tips for Self Improvement that you can start implementing today.

Identify Areas you intend to improve: The self improvement program you develop for yourself should contain all of the areas you have identified as your weakness to be improved on. This is one of the most important self improvement tips that you must learn is to identify that you are not infallible and that there is always room for improvement. The detailing of this information and the implementation of a program of improvement should allow for a better understanding of these areas in need of improvement

Identify Limiting beliefs: Identifying and getting rid of limiting beliefs is critical to your self improvement and to your overall self development. Most people have sabotage their progress by their negative belief systems. It is also known to have literally affected their self esteem and confidence. Consequently, your self improvement plan must include dismantling these limiting beliefs to improve ones life. These teachings and self improvement tips enable you to make rapid changes in your life simply by changing your negative beliefs system and transforming it into creative opportunities.

Associate with positive people: This is of utmost importance if you will achieve your goals and objectives. There will always be temporary detour in your life and things will not move in the direction you anticipated. It will be very helpful to have positive people around you that will encourage and motivate you to do what you need to do to change your life and move you in the direction of your anticipated goals. These individual have a way of robbing off on you.

Evaluate your life: This self improvement tip is important so that you can ascertain what is working and what is not. There are times when you tend to focus on the things that you have done wrong. But contrary to doing that, you should instead focus on the things you did right so as to enable you focus on doing those things again and that are congruent to your core values and this enhances your self improvement.

Develop the right way of thinking: The right way of thinking is of immense importance in your self improvement plan because a positive mindset will make all the difference in the end. We are sum total of our thoughts, that is you are a product of your thoughts. To change your world, you have to develop the right way of thinking.

Self improvement is gaining to a greater extent importance because it enables people to create a good notion about themselves and redesign the life they were born to live.

Self-Improvement – Making 2010 Amazing – Keep Doing What Works Till You Are There – Step Four

Infovest21 Making 2010 Amazing by Don MacNaughton.

So! You know that to make 2010 your amazing year, you need to decide specifically what you want, take action and pay attention to what actually works. Then you have to keep working on those things that do work until you reach your goal. If something you are doing is working for you……keep doing it!

You can also try and improve your results by making changes to that process that is working for you. Tweak it here and there and see what happens. If you have great results – continue doing that thing or improve the process again for even better results. If on the other hand you get a bad result, don’t despair! Remember Mr Edison! Keep going and never give up! Persistence really is KEY when it comes to achieving your goals!

You will not get to your goal otherwise, so keep on keeping on. Focus on the positive things that are working and give yourself rewards for that. For instance, if your goal is to lose weight in the new year, set milestones for yourself. And once you reach a milestone, be sure to treat yourself.

If you fall off the wagon, don’t worry! Just make sure you get back on for the next day. What will motivate you to keep on persisting is the achievement of those mini milestones. As great as that is though, you need to focus on the end goal.

Each day, take a few minutes to read your goals out loud to yourself. It’s also a good idea to create a positive affirmation and read that out aloud in the morning and in the evening as well before bed time. The affirmation should be written as though you have already achieved your goal. For instance, “I am feeling so amazing now that I’m 10 kilos lighter!”

And when you say that affirmation out loud, feel the feelings that come with the achievement of that goal. By doing this each day, you are staying motivated – and that will help you to stay on track. It will help you to keep on doing those things that work, until the materialization of your goal!

Have fun with it!

Goal-setting and setting up a plan to achieve the goals should not be an arduous task. Make it fun by following the four steps inspired by Anthony Robbins’ famous quote! And remember this! 2010 WILL be your amazing year if you decide ASAP what you want, take action to achieve it, pay attention to what works and what doesn’t and NEVER give up until you get there!

Opportunities in an Age of Economic Uncertainty

Bret Dudl Economic Uncertainty By Carlos G. Garcia.

The current economic situation has been described as one of the worst recessions in recent history, and as a possible depression not seen since the Great Depression. Most economists agree that the current economic crisis has probably not hit the bottom, and that the road to recovery will be long and hard.

Personally, I believe that the recovery is within our reach.

If we take a look at how the current economic crisis is evolving, we tend to see a trend and what some call a vicious circle. Let me explain. Companies around the world are feeling the economic punch and are looking for ways to become profitable and to stay in business. Most companies look for ways to lower their costs by cutting salaries, re-negotiating salaries, and maybe even laying off workers.

If salaries are reduced, or if employees are let go, their spending power will be affected. People will start to re-evaluate their spending and will focus on covering basic necessities. By examining this effect, it becomes obvious that people will start to spend less and will try to save more. By doing so, they start consuming less goods that are not basic necessity.

Now, if people start spending less, companies that produce goods are affected directly by having lower sales volumes. This translates into companies having a difficult time covering expenses, and thus having to look for ways to cut costs, resulting in cutting salaries and laying off workers.

There you have it! The cycle begins again. Of course, one of the simple laws of economics comes into play: demand and supply. If the demand for a certain product decreases, the supply of this product has to adjust itself to the demand, in order to not have to lower the price of the goods. This makes sense, and is one of the primary reasons for the economic crisis, along with inflated prices for certain goods, the famous NINJA (no income, no job) credits, and in some cases, manipulation of information.

You are probably thinking, referencing the title of this article, what does this have to do with opportunity.

Well, opportunity is a key factor for getting out of this cycle. No matter what the economic situation is, there are hundreds of thousands of people who are trying to find new ways of generating income. Like some say: “The crisis brings out the best in us, it creates new ideas, it helps the creative process, and it makes us tougher and wiser”

With this concept in mind, one of the things we need, is the right attitude. By right attitude I mean, the will to fight, work hard, and find new ways of generating income so that the current economic crisis does not affect us.

If you sit at work all day, and then at home all night thinking only about the crisis, and how it is affecting, you are not helping yourself. You have to change your state of mind, and try to see the positive side of it. Think about how you can survive this crisis and what you can do to come out on top.

The basic concept follows the line of not depending on one single stream of income, like a job. You have to create multiple streams of income, so that if one fails, you still have the others to rely on. Basically, the more income streams you have, the better.

Parenting Tips For Christmas Time – Turning Plenitude Into Gratitude

Bret Dudl Plenitude and Gratitude By Dyan Eybergen.

There is no better time than in the midst of a global economic crisis to re-evaluate our financial priorities. And with the Christmas Season fast approaching, with its unforgiving sense of commercialism, many of us are painfully aware of just how much this worldly predicament has impacted us personally. Stores have been decking their halls the moment the Halloween inventory was put away and television commercials have your children asking for everything they see advertised from “A to Z.” It’s not enough (excuse the pun) to explain to our children that there will be less this year. They have never had to want for anything before now so this foreign concept of “watching what we spend” is too difficult for them to understand. After all, doesn’t money grow on [Christmas] trees?

The other day I was shopping for Christmas ornaments in a mall department store when I heard a woman say out loud “Now there! Isn’t that just the very essence of Christmas?” I looked up fully expecting to see an angel denoting peace, or a family gathered around a Christmas tree, or at the very least, a mother with child. But to my surprise, it was a carousel of Santa with his reindeer revolving around a globe; his sack bursting at the seams with presents threatening to fall off the back of his sleigh. I looked around the rest of the store and realized that this woman’s idea of the “essence of Christmas” is the very image we perpetuate for our children. It’s no wonder they cannot conceptualize getting less this year; to them Christmas is all about the amount they get.

So how do we inject a truer meaning of Christmas into the minds of our children who only regard it as a time when they receive gifts? First, we need to examine our own beliefs about the Season. I realize that the religious theme may not fit for a lot of people, but it has to mean more than just how much money you spend on every gift or how many presents you receive. Even Dr. Seuss’ infamous character “The Grinch” understood that it did. Remember when he stood on the mountain above Who-ville listening to the Whos singing on Christmas morning. At first he was puzzled that the Christmas presents, trees and ornaments he stole from the Whos didn’t stop Christmas from coming. It came just the same as it did every other year. The Grinch realized then that Christmas doesn’t come wrapped up in a box tied with ribbons from a store. It occurred to him then that Christmas perhaps… “means a little bit more.”

So when our children receive less this year how do we handle the long faces and “hard done by” attitudes on Christmas morning? Be proactive. Children need to have a point of reference from which they come to know and feel gratitude. Children who have and get whatever they want have little understanding for what it is like to go without. They also have very little knowledge that there are people out there in the world who are less fortunate than they are. Witnessing some of those experiences and helping out to make a difference can go a long way in teaching a child about being grateful for what they already have:

- Take your child onto a medical floor of a hospital to help feed the elderly

- Volunteer as a family at a soup kitchen

- Bake cookies for a nursing home

- Donate time to a local charity Christmas campaign

- Organize a turkey dinner out of your church or community hall for your neighbours who would otherwise go without

- Collect old coats and blankets from around your neighbourhood to give to a local organizer who will distribute them to the homeless. Or better yet, go with your children and bring them to the homeless yourself

Besides giving our a children a hard lesson in the realities of poverty and teaching them the value of money and spending wisely, what kinds of gifts can we give to our children this year that will introduce a more gracious meaning of Christmas? (And not cost any money!)

- Write a story about the day your child was born, bind it and present it as a book

- Write about your favourite Christmas memory and frame it

- Give a homemade coupon book i.e. “This entitles you to a day of pampering by mom”

- Write a poem or a song about your child

- Give gifts of virtue i.e. “I give you the gift of patience when you are needing help with your homework”

- invite your children to a spend a day with you doing an outdoor activity: skating, tobogganing, road hockey, snowman making, snowball fight, cross country skiing

- A month of nightly reading of classic stories (any age will love being read to)

- A book of baby pictures with handwritten captions about how you felt at that time and what they were like as a baby

- Grant your child three wishes-anything they desire that would improve your relationship, and does not cost money i.e. that you stop raising your voice when angry, or you spend Saturday mornings together.

How to Recognize Stress Before it Turns Into Anger

Recognize Jesse Sartain Anger By Dr. Tony Fiore.

After a stressful day as a computer programmer, Jim pulled into his driveway. The children’s toys were scattered on the walkway to the house.

He immediately began noticing slight tension in his muscles and apprehension in his stomach. Entering his house, his wife ignored him while she talked with her sister on the telephone. His heart started beating a little faster.

Looking around, he noticed disarray; nothing was picked up, the house was a mess. Irritation and frustration started to settle in. Finally, as his feelings grew, he exploded and began yelling at his wife and children.

Stress may trigger anger:

Stress is often the trigger that takes us from feeling peaceful to experiencing uncomfortable angry feelings in many common situations such as the one described above.

Stress is most easily defined as a series of bodily responses to demands made upon us called stressors.

These “demands” or stressors can be negative (such as coping with a driver who cuts in front of you on the freeway) or positive (such as keeping on a tour schedule while on vacation).

Stressors may be external to you (like work pressure) or internal (like expectations you have of yourself or feeling guilty about something you did or want to do).

Whether the stressor is external or internal, scientists have discovered that the major systems of the body work together to provide one of the human organism’s most powerful and sophisticated defenses; the stress response which you may know better as “fight-or-flight.”

This response helps you to cope with stressors in your life. To do so, it activates and coordinates the brain, glands, hormones, immune system, heart, blood and lungs.

Avoid Jim’s destructive behavior toward his loved ones. Before your stress response turns into anger or aggression, use these strategies to get it under control:

Read your personal warning lights: Becoming aware of your stress response is the first step to managing it. This means listening to your body, being aware of your negative emotions, and observing your own behavior when under stress.

For instance, notice muscle tension, pounding heart, raising voice, irritation, dry mouth, or erratic movements.

What you see is what you get: For a potential stressor to affect us -stress us out – we have to first perceive it or experience it as a stressor.

Gaining a new perspective on the stressing situation can often drastically change the effect it has on us. Our stress response can indeed be a response (something we can control) instead of a knee-jerk reaction (which is automatic).

Examples: Cut off on the freeway? “It is not personal. That guy has a problem. I will stay calm.” Bullied by a co-worker? “If I react, he wins. Later, I will privately let him know how I feel about what he did. If that doesn’t work, I’ll discuss it with our manager.”

Stress-Guard your life: You can also make many life-style changes to reduce or minimize feeling stressed-out, even if you can’t change some of your actual stressors.
